Strength Training For Parkour – Part 3

The video below is the third in a series of training clips created by some parkour practitioners from the UK. Those familiar with this blog may recall seeing the first two videos posted in years past (see here).

As with their previous videos, the most recent demonstrates several low-tech, high-effect exercises that can be performed almost anywhere. The individuals seen within are prime examples that exercise can be both fun and effective. As you will see, they feed off their surroundings, turning the world around them into a training arena.

With a little creativity and hard work, the world really does become your own gym. These parkour practitioners demonstrate this idea as clearly as anyone. It is also worth stating that their first video was back in 2006. It’s been over six years now and they are still going strong.

It’s always nice to be reminded that fitness is not a product of a fancy training facility. It is entirely possible to become strong, fit, and agile with little or nothing in terms of equipment. To deny this simple fact is to turn a blind eye to videos such as this…

  1. hmmmmm! maybe i could use some of these moves in my MMA training. except the candy bar in the shrub …. i have seen these guys compete in compition and i will say they are crazy…

  2. Always am amazed and inspired at watching these guys and those guys who do the pullup-dip-pushup feats i.e. “hannibal” etc. Spiderman gone from REEL to REAL.

  3. Looks fun. My favourite was the Front lever/Muscle-up combination(01:41). There aren’t many guys at my gym who can do these kinds of things, no matter how much they bench or curl 🙂
