And was not training aswell, gassed early in the fight, and was knocked down in sparring a few weeks before the fight
This goes to prove my comparison with Naseem! hamed was well in decline when he met Barrerra. he should have faced him after Steve Robinson but instead he fought Kelley. He didn't train for Barrerra at all and looked horrible in the small amount of sparring he did do. watch the documentary 'the Little Prince', it shows it all.
And Tyson was knocked silly by Douglas. watch the vid. He gets rocked repeatedly, responds with uppercuts from the outside - timing way off, vision affected, very likely already concussed - then Douglas smashes him with a wicked combination and Tyson goes down heavily with his head fishtailing all around from the shots he's taking as he falls. gets to his feet too late and he's falling into the ref as he does so. Any more 'silly' than that and it's Kostya v Zab silly.
Douglas started landing more after round 5 when Tyson started to tire more, but up to round 5 it was fairley even
Knocked silly as a KO i would agree with, but the fight overall no

As fight fans we're always more forgiving to our idols. Truth be told, Tyson didn't lose to Buster Douglas and Naz was on the decline before Barrera - A fight he was winning up until Round 5. But, it's how they come back that matters.
These qualities distinguish Sugar Ray. Ali & Pacquiao from others. Even 'undefeated' Money Mayweather showed resolve in beating Castillo the second time round.
Tyson did come back, Naz didn't. They both deserve their place in the Hall Of Fame - Not because of what could of been, but because of the remarkable fighters they were.

Tyson didn't lose to Douglas? Did I wake up in some alternate timeline?

He didn't and McClellan didn't lose to Nigel Benn either. Had the rules been implemented correctly, Benn and Douglas would have been counted out.

What's dopey is statements which depend upon tautologies such as
'The world is not the way the world is'
Quote:
Truth be told, Tyson didn't lose to Buster Douglas
or
'If things were different they'd be different'

McClellan didn't lose to Nigel Benn either. Had the rules been implemented correctly, Benn and Douglas would have been counted out.
Both are frankly asinine observations since neither account for the possibility of fan man landing a parachute in the ring mid fight.

Did you see Paris KO Zab Judah at the weekend? It was a shame Mayweather picked up his first lost to Ortiz, hopefully he can recover against Cotto.
