CONDITIONING

6 x 3 minute rounds on heavy bag
*1 minute rest between rounds

NOTES:

Well, I know I have to get more creative with my conditioning but I just love heavy bag work so much! Felt much better today than I have previously. Ill add more rounds next time. I had my 2 youngest boys bugging me a lot so I had to stop before I needed to. I accidentally left hooked my 4 yr old in the ear actually. Poor guy. Luckily it was near the end of a round and wasnt my hardest shot! Plus I was able to console him during my 1 min rest! haha. Anyhow it feels so good to be back on track again and not have anything extra on my plate to worry about. This work out didnt work me as hard as I would have liked. May do some more conditioning later today when my wife gets home. Need to get myself back into speedo shape!!

CONDITIONING

5 x 30 secs punch out drills
*30 sec rest between rounds
3 x 1 min power punch rounds
*1 min rest between rounds
3 x 3 minute skill rounds
*1 min rest between rounds

then 30 sec rest and
1 x 30 sec punch out drill
*30 sec rest then:
2 x 1 minute power punch rounds
*1 min rest between rounds

DONE

NOTES:

Holy fuck that felt great! I sort of re arranged things because my stupid gymboss was set wrong again. Funny how my ipod always seems to run out of batteries mid work out too! Anyhow, besides all that things went smoothly and I had a blast! Still feel a bit sick to my stomach and light headed in such a good way! Starting with the punch out drills really is tough but once I get warmed up I can go as long as I need to. Altogether this is about 16 minutes of work time and I loved mixing it up like this. I have my gymboss set right now and cant wait to do this one again. Next time though, I think Ill add some speed rounds of bw squats. My legs feel neglected, but I have kinda been doing that on purpose. Feel like Im sitting on cloud 9! Loving it! Only a couple times where it felt like my heart missed a beat or 2 today.

STRENGTH

A. Sandbag Complex 4 x 4 @ 70 lbs (clean+press+front hold+squat+lunge each leg= 1 rep)

B1 push ups 4 x 15+ @ bw (20,20,16,15)
B2 pull ups 4 x 1+ @ bw (3,2,2,1)

FINISHER:
3 x 5/arm db swings @ 55lbs

NOTES:

Had a very bad 10 second heart svt episode during a press of the sand bag. It stopped though so I am happy! Amazing how tough the sandbag complex was! Nice way to hit almost every muscle and it really got my hr up too! That 70 lbs felt like 200 by the end of each set! My finisher was a bit sad but it did the trick pretty well. I was a bit tentative after the svt episode. Almost stopped right then and there but something inside is kicking my fear's ass lately. I am starting to kinda like what I am seeing in the mirror and I feel so good again! My pull up numbers are still weak but I am improving as I lose weight and gain strength. This was a nice quick routine too. I was a bit short on time so this worked well and I feel rubbery all over! Nice. I think I will use this template often and progress with reps and weight. Should work well.

DENSITY DAY

-5 minutes on heavy bag
-5 minutes bw squats
-5 minutes on heavy bag

DONE

NOTES:

Coming down with a bit of a sore throat right now so I decided against anything too nasty but this definitely wasnt a walk in the park! Now, that's funny The 5 minutes of body weight squats killed me! Kinda lost count after a while. Wasnt going super fast the whole way thats for sure but I did keep moving. I should have done 2 sets of the squats but I think Ill do that next time.

CONDITIONING

8 x 3 minute heavy bag rounds
* 1 minute rest between rounds

NOTES:

Took a couple days off due to travelling and stuff. Had an excellent workout today. Felt well rested and strong as a mofo! Nice solid and rapid punches and my footwork didnt feel sluggish. Or as sluggish as it usually does anyhow. I feel a bit light headed at the moment. I think Ill lie die and watch some tv for a bit! Had a couple nasty SVT episodes during this bought. They all stopped on their own which makes me happy.

Well I somehow ended up blowing a vein in my leg. Apparently I have varicose veins behind both my knees from being over weight and some how I blew one of them and now I have a huge bruise on my leg. So I guess I have to take it easy for a couple days :(

CONDITIONING & MINI STRENGTH

5 x 3 minutes on heavy bag
*1 min rest between rounds

4 x 3+ pull ups (3,3,3,3)
4 x 15 push ups

NOTES

Well my leg is still bruised pretty badly but it is getting better. I couldnt sit around another day so I decided to do a mini conditioning and strength routine. Felt great! Speed on the bag is improving and so is my power. Not much footwork today due to the leg issue but I hit it hard and fast and it felt great! Not sure when Ill start working the legs again. Probably a few days or less I imagine.

CONDITIONING

7 x 3 minute heavy bag rounds
* 1 min rest between rounds

NOTES:

Leg is still bruised but I needed to do something before I died of boredom! Once I warmed up I felt great on the bag. I love boxing! I wish I wouldve been able to box foe real when I was younger. I am 34 now and obviously I missed the boat but I bet I wouldve been pretty good. Too bad. Couldve been a great football player too but I lived in a place that had no opportunities for me in any way! Too bad. I do enjoy boxing as a way to stay in shape though. It is my favourite form of torture! I am still a little scared to do any heavy lifting due to the stupid vein in my leg. 7 seemed like the magic number today. Surprised I did more than 3 as I felt very lazy today! Baby steps I guess huh?

I have been feeling ill the last couple days so no training at all. Eating clean though and feeling good! We just bought a new mattress called Novaform from Costco! Only one night on it so far but holy shit is it ever nice! Highly recommend it! Cheaper than a normal mattress and waaaay cheaper than a tempurpedic yet just as amazing! Anyhow, I hope to be back at it tomorrow.
