Just started Wendlers 5/3/1 Strength Programme and gonna log my progress on here, so hopefully I can see some good progress in the next few months/years...

I am 23 years old, 179cm tall and currently weigh 75kg. I play football Tuesday & Thursday evening and Saturday afternoon. My main aim is to increase strength.

I'll start with Monday's workout:

Monday Oct 3rd 2011:

Squat - (2 mins rest between sets)
62.5kg x 5
72.5kg x 5
80kg x 8

Bench Press - (2 mins rest between sets)
52.5kg x 5
60kg x 5
67.5kg x 6

Dips - 15, 15, 10 (60 secs rest between sets)

Push Ups - 25, 20, 15 (60 secs rest between sets)

Wednesday Oct 5th 2011:

Deadlift - (2 mins rest between sets)
62.5kg x 5
72.5kg x 5
80kg x 6

Military Press - (2 mins rest between sets)
35kg x 5
42.5kg x 5
47.5kg x 8

Pull Ups - 15, 10(8+2), 5 (60 secs rest between sets)

Lat Raises - 10kg - 12, 10, 10 (60 secs rest between sets)

Friday Oct 7th 2011:

100 Pull Ups: (60 secs rest between sets)
5, 8, 10, 10, 8, 5 - slightly wider than shoulder width grip
7, 7, 7, 7 - reverse, narrow grip (supersetted these with 10 x Lat Raises+10 x Front Raises)
2, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 5 - wide grip

Tri-Set: (60 secs rest between sets)
A1: Diamond Push Ups x 10, 10, 10
A2: Dips x 10, 10, 7+3
A3: Push Ups x 10, 10, 7+3

Triceps were burning after this!

Played a game Saturday and my hips felt so rigid. It was only my third full game of the season, so I'm still increasing my fitness, but before and during the game my hips and lower back felt really stiff. This being the case, I'm going to lay off the heavy (for me) deadlifts and squats for a few weeks, until I feel fully match fit and ready to give them a go again.
It's a shame as I was looking forward to getting my numbers up on those, but I've got lots of games coming up so they'll just have to be put to one side for a bit.

So, today's workout looked like this...

Monday Oct 10th 2011:

Bench Press - (2.5 mins rest between sets)
55kg x 3
65kg x 3
72.5kg x 6

A1: Dips - 20, 15, 12
A2: *Supine Row - 12, 10, 8 (60 secs rest between sets)

B1: Push Ups - 30, 25, 20
B2: Bent-Over Row - 60kg - 10, 8, 6 (60 secs rest between sets)

*I'm not quite sure what this is exactly called, but it's done with my feet on a large swiss ball and hands on the dips bars, rowing my body up, then holding for a second at the top.

Couldn't access my normal gym today, so had to change programme. Will do my normal Wednesday programme on Friday instead.

Wednesday Oct 12th 2011:

DB Military Press - (2 mins rest between sets)
22kg x 8, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7

A1: Lat Raises - 10kg x 12, 12, 12
A2: Front Raises - 10kg x 12, 12, 12 (60 secs rest between sets)

Finisher - DB Curl & Press:
22kg x 1
20kg x 2
18kg x 3
16kg x 4
14kg x 5
12kg x 6
10kg x 7
8kg x 8
6kg x 9
4kg x 10

no rest in between, arms/shoulders were struggling at the end!

Friday Oct 14th 2011:

DB Military Press - 24kg (2 mins rest between sets)
5, 5, 5

Pull Ups x 100 - (60 secs rest between sets)
6, 8, 11, 11, 8, 6 - slightly wider than shoulder width
6, 8, 11, 11, 8, 6 - reverse, narrow grip
Struggled with these and a few were broken up, ie a couple of the 11's were 8+3 etc.

Tri-Set:
A1: Diamond Push Ups x 10, 10, 10
A2: Dips x 10, 10, 7
A3: Push Ups x 10, 10, 10

Didn't train Monday, as was feeling under the weather and didn't wanna over-do myself before Tuesday's game.
