Mike,
Thanks for sharing and for the comments in my log. Despite your unfortunate circumstances, I admire you for looking at the positive side of things. I never considered your not being here selfish. Sometimes you just have to retreat and take care of things.
Talk to you soon.
Gil

I almost forgot to post Friday's workout...I didn't have access to the weightroom since the local high school where I coach and train at was closed for Easter recess. I did a brief kettlebell workout at home
Kettlebell clean and press @ 24kg 8 sets x 1 rep each arm
Kettlebell swings-one arm style x 100 reps

I had a nice Easter Weekend to ponder some things about my training. I came to the realization that I do not want to have my workouts stuck in pre-set percentages. I hate training light!!! It's back to my dinosaur days of heavy singles and adding weight whenever I can, not when the percentage chart says to...I'm sold on heavy singles, have been for years and I should kick myself in the ass for altering my training. I'll keep the lifts where they are during the week. I guess this is one way of just saying "Fuck It!" I've got my own path to follow and the naysayers can go to hell.

Didn't have access to the weightroom yesterday since school was closed for the Easter Holiday. Had a stressful day today. I was going to squat, but since I was in a foul mood, I decided to do deadlifts today and squat tomorrow. I can just hear the exercise police scream...but that's too much work to do on back to back days. You should gently stress the muscles, blah blah blah. I will be fine with this week's training. Just being flexibilbe. Deadlift 135 x 2 245 x 1 335 x 1 405 x 1 480 x 1 Stress gone...feel much better.
Hanging leg raise: 3 x 5
Can't wait to squat tomorrow!

Can't wait to squat tomorrow! Nice, IW. What't the heaviest kettlebell you have at the moment? I know they have a 106 lb, or "the beast" at dragondoor.

Squat day 135 x 3 225 x 1 300 x 1 320 x 1 350 x 1 370 x 1
Dragon flags 2 x 5
I know that my squat numbers are down, but they are improving (damn that pulled muscle that I had). I can see 400 at the end of the short tunnel.

Friday April 17, MMIX Push press Bar x 3 115 x 1 135 x 1 145 x 1 155 x 1 170 x 1 180 x 1
The push press numbers are going up. For awhile, I was doing dumbbell presses using this rep scheme: 2,3,5,10. I would do two series of these reps. I thought it was time to go back to barbell push presses.
Farmers walk w/75lb dumbbells...heaviest we have at the high school. Two sets.
