STRENGTH
A. db clean + press 4 x 3/ arm @ 60 lbs B. sandbag squats 4 x 10 @ 70 lbs C. barbell deadlifts 4 x 4 @ 205 lbs
D1. db bench press 4 x 5 per arm @ 55 lbs D2. db kroc rows 4 x 7 per arm @ 55 lbs
NOTES:
Well this was supposed to be a max strength routine and for the most part it was but I wasnt able to do heavy squats because I dont have a rack any more. I used my 75 lb sand bag because I cant quite get my 100 lb bag up on my shoulders that many times yet! Felt great to do dead lifts again!! Not a huge weight but a good start. I think I will do deadlifts every max day. I love em! Right side is waaaay weaker than my left but I managed to get my last reps done on each set. Tomorrow Im going to try my hand at some minute drills. :)
I need to build myself a power tower badly!!! Missing those heavy squats!

Jan. 31/2012CONDITIONINGHeavy Bag Drills 4 x 30 second punch out drills * 30 second rest between rounds 4 x 1 minute power punch rounds * 1 minute rest between rounds 3 x 3 minute skill rounds * 1 minute rest between rounds NOTES:Well I was supposed to do 5-30 second punch out drills but my stupid ipod gymboss timer messed up and I skipped one some how. Overall this was a nasty lovely work out! I thought it would be easier than it was. Had some heart flips as I warmed up, but after that I was back in beast mode and it felt fuckin fantastic!

STRENGTH-Endurance
A. db snatch 4 x 10 per arm @ 30 lbs B. db seesaw press 4 x 10 per side C. bw lunges 4 x 15 per leg d1. bw push ups 4 x 15 d2. db kroc rows 4 x 20 per arm @ 30 lbs
D1 and D2 superset with no rest between superset pairs. This killed my shoulders and lats near the end!
NOTES: This was a great work out. I chose pretty much perfect rep ranges for everything. |Each exercise had the muscles they worked burning real good at the end of each set! And the snatches really got my hr up there pretty good too. Those always do! Feeling great and already seeing some small results from my work outs and diet change! Ill post some before and after shots once I feel less embarrassed about how I look!

Well, Ive been hit with some potentially very bad news about my wife and quickly I have fallen into a slump. We are still waiting for a phone call to determine whether or not our lives are going to change forever but the fear has been placed in my mind and I feel paralysed. It seems that every time I try to better myself something really shitty happens to stop me dead in my tracks. Maybe it will all turn out ok, and if so, things will continue to chug along as they were but if the news is bad I am not sure what will happen? Stress has beaten me down and beaten me down again and I am afraid it is winning at the moment. I played some floor hockey with my boys for a while anyhow. That was fun.

CONDITIONING
6 x 3 minute heavy bag rounds * 1 minute rest between rounds
NOTES:
I decided to say "FUCK IT!!" and get my ass down stairs to cause some endorphins to be released! It was tough not to lay in bed all day and play Madden but I decided something. I figure that regardless of the news we may or may not receive in the next few days, I still need to be at my best. Working out helps me get closer to that goal and I need to be at my best, especially if the shit hits the fan. I have 3 little boys and a wife whom depend on my strength so I need to be strong!
As for the workout. Felt pretty bad to be honest after taking a few days off but I got it done and feel lovely now. At least for a little while. ;)

CONDITIONING
6 x 30 second punch out drills * 30 second rest between rounds 3 x 1 minute power punch rounds * 1 minute rest between rounds 3 x 3 minute skill rounds * 1 minute rest between rounds
NOTES:
I decided that I need to get more conditioning done in a week than I was before. I need to work on losing weight so I dont feel so sluggish. I feel slow on the bag and its frustrating. Im eating quite clean and have been for a while but I am eager to lose weight even faster. Boxing is good for me right now but I know I do need to throw some variety in soon. Still waiting on my wife's test results. Still worried sick. Working out gives e a sense of well being that I really need right now.

STRENGTH MAX
A. db snatch 5 x 5/arm @ 55 lbs B. db push jerk 5 x 5/arm @ 50 lbs C. db swings 5 x 5/arm @ 50 lbs D1. push ups 5 x 15 @ bw D2. pull ups 5 x 1+ (2,1,1,1,1)
NOTES:
Well for some reason I did 5 sets instead of the normal 4 I do. Thats ok. I obviously need some work in a few areas! Not sure how I forgot my normal set count but oh well. This left me feeling very rubbery and ready for a nap! My pull up numbers are very sad but I can only go up from here right. Yep. So thats about it.

Ok well as of friday a shit load of worry was taken from my shoulders. What had happened was my wife had a mammogram done about a week and a half ago. While there she was called back in for a second scan and was told that they had found something that needed to be looked at closer. So all last week we were waiting on the results and because of her family history with cancer we were both expecting some very nasty news. She is only 29 but apparently in her family it doesnt wait for you to be old a grey before it attacks. It was a week of absolute worry but absolute revelation also. We were taught a great lesson regarding how we were taking pretty much everything and everyone for granted. I had such a hard time concentrating on anything and although hitting the gym helped me relieve some stress, it was always short lived. The idea of my wife going through such pain and possibly even leaving us devastated me to the core. I felt paralysed by fear. Anyhow, finally after a week and one day my wife received her results. No cancer! What they had found was a vascular calcification which they believe was caused by a cyst or something. Holy shit! What a relief! So we spent the weekend relaxing and appreciating everything we have. I still feel shaken though. It was a rough time. I am ready now to get back to my dungeon gym again full force. I am so happy to not have anything to worry about, at least not for a while hopefully. Appreciate the ones you love and the health you have. Thats all I have to say.
