Yeah it is an expensive cert to have if un-used, in Aus at least. I'm hoping to get some part time sort of work in a gym but mostly want to run my own business and possibly a gym in the future. I hate working for other people most of the time, unless they let me do things my way haha.
What are your main goals training wise? Are you competing/going to compete in anything?

How did you get on today mate? Podium finish I'll bet, after all you've put a lot of effort into your limbo press.

Good job on the calucated 500 lbs Dl. That will be my goal for the year I'm over here.
I've decide to try about 6 weeks worth of SS to get my lifts sup quickly before moving back over to 5/3/1. Most threads I found recomeded the standard 2xBW dl and 1.5 BW squat before coming off a linear progression (although I'm not sure if they meant 1RM or 5Rm for those numbers). With six weeks, I should be there at 10 lbs gains per week.

Just got back home from my weekend adventure...stayed in Asheville NC with my buddy who came along with me to Salisbury for the competition(Asheville is a nice little town if you're ever nearby, kind of reminds me of Athens but with mountains.)
As for the competition, no podium finish for me although I had a hell of a fun time and learned a lot. I failed on the second stone after getting it to the lip of the platform, which was disappointing for me. This was my second time ever lifting stones though so I know my technique was terrible and I was mostly just muscling them up. There is no gym replacement for stone lifting, I've learned that now. Next order of business is to seriously get busy finding a place to train with implements.
I did excellent on the fingal fingers, probably my best event of the day. I had the best time in my weight class with 23 seconds and some change....not bad for a first ever go at this event. Farmer's walk was a sprint, but the turn was way too wide(you were right, Nails) and what would have been an excellent time turned into fourth place real quick. Tire flip was rather easy, but as such everyone was in the running for it and the top times were really close. I was three seconds or so out of first in my class. Bus pull was also another event where a lot of people were in the running for first. My time was horribly mediocre since it took me a couple extra seconds to get going. I need to work on leaning forward more at the start to get my legs into it better.
All in all it was a great learning experience, and all the competitors were super nice and despite the length of the day(the event started at 11am and ended about 6) it was really fun. I have a new obsession now...this is a great sport.

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 28
Bench
45 x 10 95 x 10 135 x 5 --------- 170 x 5 195 x 3 225 x 1 285 x 1 *PR*
The PR was a little shaky but went up. Really glad to see my bench getting stronger since its my weakest lift.
Pendlay Row
285 x 3 300 x 5 x 3
Close Grip Bench
225 x 2 x 3 205 x 4 x 3
I was going to do dumbbell benches as well, but my elbows are feeling creaky from Saturday still so I didn't want to aggravate things further.

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 29
Squats
135 x 10 225 x 5 ---------- 275 x 5 315 x 3 350 x 3
Wanted a PR, nothing doing. I suck at repping out squats.
Front Squat
285 x 3 *PR* 285 x 3 265 x 3 245 x 3 225 x 2 x 3
I'm going to get creative with the rep schemes on my assistance work next cycle...way more triples, definitely.
Good Mornings
95 x 4 x 10
50 ft sled sprints
2 plates x 10
Nice little burn out for the ole wheels to finish the day. Farmer's walks in my gym are now pointless since the dumbbells don't go any higher and I don't have enough space to do them regularly. I have officially outgrown my gym.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 2
Ran a 5k this morning...it was a benefit run for a local charity so I figured I'd drag my fat ass 3.2 miles for a good cause. Finished the ULTRA HILLY COURSE in 29:35...I'm a fat fuck.
Press
45 x 10 95 x 5 -------- 135 x 5 155 x 3 175 x 2
BTN Push Press
185 x 2 x 3
Wasn't feeling solid on these because my legs were a bit tired from the run and I couldn't get a good drive going so I figured in the interest of safety I should stop.
Barbell Curl From the Floor
155 x 4 x 5
Seated DB Press
(weight listed in each hand) 50 x 10 40 x 10 30 x 10
