I didn't get the 240 on video as I thought it would be pretty easy going on how the 220 was. I thought I'd locked the 250 out but looking at the video I didn't. I actually feel like I'm better pulling off the floor than from that height. SSB Squats were as ugly as always but happy to get over the 400lb barrier, I did the 2nd one with the belt to see if it was any easier, it was but the first had taken a lot of me.

Good session. Just hit the required reps on the main lifts and then went for some big singles. Happy to get the 130 bench as it's been a target for a while but haven't actually tried it before.

Good session. Just working on the events for the comp. Didn't want to max out on any of them, I just wanted to get a feel for them and work on pacing myself on the deadlifts. I might do my squats I was supposed to do tomorrow, or tonight if I feel upto it.

Bad idea to train tonight, but I had it in my head that I shouldn't skip squatting. I've been swimming with my nephews this afternoon, and obviously I had a big session yesterday so I don't know what else I expected really. 160 felt heavy tonight so I did a 3 singles with it and called it a day. Easy week now before the comp.

Joined in with my mates 531 again tonight. Did a few sets on each a bit higher than his. I did everything paused just to make it a little more challenging. 120 is a paused bench PR and was much easier than I expected.

Video from today:
Deadlift went ok, I only warmed up upto 110kg as there were so many people waiting to use it, that wasn't ideal but 14 reps is fine. Happy with the log, but I'd been working on the log and keg medley so wasn't used to doing log for reps on its own and I gassed worse than I expected, but I was joint 3rd with 7 reps so have to be happy with that. Now this is the worst part for me, this is an event I was quietly confident about as I've been flying in training, yoke went well but I didn't set my grip like I do in training on farmers as I was rushing and I dropped them almost straight away ripping off a load of skin, it was just pure agony from that point on and I'm surprised I even finished it. I went early on in the cross and everyone before me had struggled and I had about 48m to beat, so I got 60m without a real fight and left it there, I honestly think I would of done better if I had a big number to chase, but that's just how it goes. Last event I didn't even bother going over and trying the equipment out like everyone else had and that ended up costing me a lot of time, my sandbag at home is easy to grip so I just went in with that technique and it backfired. I was never going to get that gas bottle no matter how long I had. Next comp I do I'll pay a lot more attention to detail and have a go on everything before the events start if allowed. Great day and look forward to the next one.

Played in my first rugby game in almost a year today and we lost. I just don't have the hunger for it anymore, I found myself just trying to get through the game without picking up an injury so I'll be ok to hit the gym on Monday, and that's not fair to the team or myself. Last year I was hungry and had a point to prove, but I just don#t feel like that now. All I care about now is trying to get stronger.
Soon you'll be a pharmacy wizard, and you'll be jacked. Who would want to fuck with that? A crazy man, that's who.

Yo Kroc, we heard you like lifting so we put muscles in your muscles so you can lift while you lift.

Not a bad first session back. I've not been eating how I was leading upto the comp this last week as I was just thinking about rugby, but that's over with now so I can get back at it. I've done 7 at that weight on military but I could tell by the sets leading upto it that it was going to be tough going today. Doing the cleans for each rep on log makes a massive difference, but I know from the comp that it is something I need to work on. I might do another little session tonight when my mate comes to train.
