My back is feeling a bit better today but didn't want to risk doing too much. Once this has cleared up I should be able to start doing some more intense workouts as the wounds were the stitches came out have healed really well.

Its pretty good, but if I'm honest I'd be better off with a good quality punch bag. It can be a bit hard on the hands at times, not very forgiving.
On a side note I'm going to Jiu-Jitsu for the first time ever tomorrow night, always wanted to try it, and its only taken me 30 years to actually get off my arse and go
Been thinking of other equipment I can make on the cheap now that I can fully train again, at the moment I have Slam Man, Ab Wheel, 80KG BB, 30KG DB's, 40KG Sandbag, 11.4KG Medicine Ball & Doorway Pull-Up Bar. Time for me to get reading the equipment forum

Had my first Jiu-Jitsu class today and loved it, definatly what I've been looking for!
I was quite shocked that after the warm up they went into deck of cards which I've obviously read about on here lots of times, I was pretty happy with myself as me and another lad were much fitter than the rest of the class and I've not been in full training since my operation. It lasted about an hour and a half and included some sparring, grappling and technique work. Can't wait for next week now

To be honest I'm not even sure, I just turned up and did it and tried to learn as much as I could, there was quite a bit of grappling/wrestling. I only weigh 10st 7lb and most of the guys there were between 13-15st at a guess, so I got checked about a bit, but I think I shocked a few of them. I really enjoyed it, as it was a really good atmosphere. He seemed keen to teach MMA in general so thats a bonus.
My back is feeling it a bit, but a few pain killers and some sleep and hopefully I'll be ok, if not I'll be going to a chiropractors or osteopaths
