Longtime lurker that decided to keep an online training log :mozilla_surprised:

55 years old, I've lifted for 'about' 25 years now. My lifting is very basic, always has been. Strength is my interest and my goal. I'm fairly lean, having been so my entire life, 5'11" and 240lbs. My wife calls me 'fit'.

Having come back from vacation and started my newest lifting cycle 4 days ago, I'll just start my log with this past Monday and keep it going from there. I normally lift either 3 or 4 days per week, right now I'm lifting 3 days, Mon-Wed-Fri. I've started over at about 70% in everything but the FS and TBDL which I started a little heavier than usual.

I do what it is I love to do in the weight room. I absolutely adore the close grip bench press and found I gain best with a H/M/L per week protocol. I like what they do for my upper body, thickening everything nicely. I'm not a competitive powerlifter so I rarely backsquat or BLDL. I just do what I like to do

Thank you, oh throwers of Vikings! :angelic-green:

My best is 365x3 and I'm hoping to make it to 405 sometime in the next year or so...

Went to a friends how this morning and ended up having to demonstrate proper technique with the close grip bench press. I hope this doesn't affect Monday's lift  They are all county policemen and my friend is someone who I taught to shoot and how to hunt. Really a great kid (27) and a damned good cop. I ended up doing too much, I believe.

Close grip bench

Then I explained we should be able to bench our BWx20 or more.....
240x27
295x1
315x1
350x1
375x1
395x1
315x10

I'm tired...........

A good day in the weight room, after a weekend of fun and sun with the grandkids, I was worn out and could feel it as soon as I first took the bar from the rack!

16" Close grip bench
140x12
240x12
295x5
345x3
345x3
345x3
345x3
345x3
Dips
BWx7
35#x7
70#x7
Bent Rows
135x12
195x12
230x12
Ab Wheel
15 kneeling
8 standing

Few first sets with the close grip felt kind of 'off'. It wasn't until 3-5 that I hit the groove. Can't complain about anything else.

Wednesdays used to always be my easy(ish) day, now I've made them uncomfortable!

Front squat (light week)
135x3
225x2
275x1
TBDL (heavy week)
285x1
360x1
410x1
510x1
16" Close grip bench
140x12
240x7
305x7
305x7
305x7
305x7

I was pleased with my medium close grip today, it was 75% and was strong and smooth. So much so, I was feeling kind of studly for an old feller when I finished!

The trapbar deadlift was a little harder than I would have wished but oh well, its in the book!
