I found a local small farmer that sold me a gallon of RAW milk. I went over to his farm, petted the cow, and saw how she has an acre of grass all for herself. Grass fed. Love it. He milked the cow and sold me a nice warm gallon of milk for $8. I drove home and refrigerated it. Just drank a large glass. Ahhh. It was yummy and felt sooo good to drink something real. By the way, I just read that a gallon of milk back in 1965 was $6.50 (corrected for inflation) so I don't feel too bad spending a little more for real milk. I will never drink pasteurized milk again.

Does anyone else find it strange that people drink the milk of animals? Wouldn't it make more sense to drink human breast milk if you felt the need for milk?

There are a lot of things about humans that are weird, but we've done what we had to do to survive, and have apparently done it very well :) If cows and sheep can digest grass and we can't, but we can drink their milk, then that's an additional food source we wouldn't otherwise have access to. Think of it as energy conversion, though at this point I'd say it's more just culture. Either way, I freaking love cheese, so thank you cows.

I don't fault anyone for liking milk or dairy in general. I just find it strange. I don't like milk but I love cheese. Eggs are another thing that's weird as hell to eat, but I love those too. Who's the first guy that watched a chicken crap out an egg and thought...Damn I'm gonna eat that.

Maybe when they saw something hatch from it. Its always interesting to see how we've evolved through the years and which foods/drinks we've incorporated into our diet. For example like the milk and eggs you mentioned but also alcohol, coffee, etc. We as a species KICK ASS!

Isn't it great how excited you can get about wholesome natural nutrition? Those farmers that do it raw and grass fed are doing it right. For the animals, for the earth and for the people. My hats off to them.
