De La Hoya vs Trinidad.

How can you dominate the first 7 rounds and lose?

Baffling.

No one has mentioned Holyfield v Lewis. That was the most disgraceful decision I have ever seen.

Ok, here's another one -- not a decision that cost the worthy fighter his victory (fortunately!), but IMO shocking and outrageous nonetheless.

It is almost beyond belief to me that at the time that Buster Douglas floored (& KO'd) Mike Tyson in the 10th round of their contest, only one judge's scorecard had Douglas ahead in the fight!!! Are you kidding me? I gave Tyson 2 or at the most 3 rounds -- all the rest to Buster. But somehow one judge had it all even, and Ken Morita actually had Tyson in the lead! That's plumb loco! ... Leaves one speechless. :snooty:

Timothy Bradley over Manny Pacquiao.

I say this intentionally and am not using hyperbole (I realize some will disagree):

The worst boxing decision I personally have ever seen.

I just got back from the sports bar & grill where I watched the fight. Even though I know it's just sports (a game), I'm still too upset to go into much detail here. I gave Bradley 2 rounds total (the 10th and the 12th).

I've been a boxing fan all my life, but the effect of such an injustice on me is kind of strange. At least for the time being I don't even feel like watching or following it, including any rematch.

To end on a positive, I thought both fighters were pretty classy during the post-fight interview, despite difficult circumstances.

addendum: I have now read other quotes from Timothy Bradley from shortly after the initial post-fight interview and am steadily less impressed (from a character standpoint) -- comments which contradict what he said in the ring right after the fight, by the way. Unfortunate but not surprising. Seems his ego became the second thing that night to get the better of him.

That's exactly how I feel - This is why Boxing is dying and UFC is growing.

I won't be paying for any rematch.

Son, you make it seem like Mayweather and Pacquiao are the only ones who fight boxing matches even though you say you've been a boxing fan your life.

Um, dad (?) ... How so? In my brief time on this forum I've commented on many different boxers, both current and past. :confusion-scratchheadblue:
