The Women of MMA

Hurricane Sandy recently came in and knocked out power to much of the east coast. I am actually typing this entry with a head lamp on as we are still in the dark.

At a time like this, it is nice to be reminded that Sandy isn’t the only female who packs a punch. Take a look at the tribute video below to witness several amazing fighters.

Last week, we heard that women can’t do pull-ups (see here). Imagine how those who conducted that bogus study would respond to the video below. As stated before, women and men can and will do what they train to do. It’s as simple as that…

    Before Lucia Rijker, before the women in MMA, you had Kathy Long an amazing female kickboxer from the early nineties. Long would even compete in an MMA bout in 2009 at the age of 45 and win her only MMA bout. She also did commentary in the first ever UFC back in 1993. Amazing fighter.

  4. I can confirm that girls can do pull ups. I have seen with my own eyes my ex do some pull ups. Funny enough she has trained in MMA herself.
