Inspiration from Nathan Russell

Nathan Russell was living what he thought was the American dream. He was a hard working man with a nice home, property, vehicles, and family. He had created a nice life for himself.

Life is often unpredictable however. We never know what the next day may bring. Nathan certainly was not prepared for a life without vision. Who is? Anyone reading this blog doesn’t know what it is like to be blind. I’m sure it is a scary thought for anyone to live life without vision.

Unfortunately, what is a scary thought to us is a reality for Nathan Russell. After creating a comfortable life for himself, Nathan Russell lost his vision. He is now blind.

Amazingly, his tragic circumstances have fostered a newfound passion. Nathan is now an instructor for the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu academy. He trains other blind and visually impaired students. Rather than giving up on life, he has instead dedicated himself to helping others who share his struggles.

The video below tells his inspiring story.

It is surprising what a man can do when he has to, and how little most men will do when they don’t have to. – Walter Linn

I think i trained with him once. if not him, another blind jits practitioner who was very talented. I wonder if there are a lot. It’s a pretty good art for the blind.

Very inspiring, feel sad for the guy but he doesn’t feel sad for himself which is good.
