I’m not easily impressed but Johanna’s ability is absolutely incredible. When I first saw a video of her online, I questioned whether it was real. Fortunately, she is in fact legit. This 86 year old woman is more capable than most men and women a fraction of her age.

She is a true testament to the body’s remarkable ability to retain functionality when treated properly throughout life.

  1. This is pretty much the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen. Like you say, it shows that your body doesn’t have to fall apart from age if you take proper care of it.

It gives me hope that I have many more years of being an athlete ahead of me (I’m currently 25)!

  2. DAMN. REMARKABLE. I’m with you that is some “incredible” stuff. When I think of the people out there who are absolute wrecks by the time they are half this woman’s age. Hell, with the advent of the internet and other sedentary hobbies like video games a lot of modern men and women are even gone by the time they’re reaching what should be their physical peaks like in the late twenties and early thirties. Have always admired men and women gymnasts and I personally think they’re the best pure athletes along with the decathlete out there. Always look forward to watching the Olympics spotlight sports like track and field and gymnastics. These incredible sports receive little attention except for during the Olympic Games. Once again this lady is unbelievable. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, but then again Jack Lalanne performed some feats at an advanced age that rank even with this lady or if not in a league all to himself.

  3. This lady is truly amazing and makes me want to train as long as I possibly can. It is great to see younger people applauding the achievements of somebody more advanced in years, as this so seldom happens in the wider world.

  4. Anytime I start feeling old and rationalizing adopting a more “common sense” lifestyle of inactivity to fit my half century old body I will look to or recall this lady of 86 years. Was feeling antiquated and decrepit(always on Saturdays) looking for all kinds of excuses to avoid a arduous and boring upper body weight workout followed by a trip to the park for some hill sprints/jogs/walks. Sudddenly at 51 I feel embarrassed for feeling this way and kick my self in the arse for being such a wimp.

  5. Fantastic ability at such an age, even at half that age for so many.

She has my respect and admiration and I find her an inspiration.
    thanks for posting
