The 2012 Paralympics

Below is an advertisement for the upcoming 2012 Paralympics. The video was recently posted to my Facebook page.

It’s worth a look as in less than 2 minutes, it truly captures the heart and soul of these inspiring athletes. Speaking as someone who has never seen the Paralympics, I am now looking forward to watching some of the upcoming events.

These athletes are as inspirational as any of the most accomplished athletes from the Olympics. To compete despite the unfortunate circumstances that they’ve dealt with in life is beyond incredible. It certainly puts our own bumps and bruises into perspective.

Hats off to these athletes.

Awesome video and thanks for posting it. As you said, it really puts things into perspective. Most often that perspective is a hard one to face; realizing that we quit so soon, so fast, usually when faced by circumstances that pale in comparison to the huge hurdles faced by these athletes. One word; inspiring.

This tv ad has been running in UK for weeks, now.

Proud to say that these Paraolympics will be the best attended of all paraolympics. Many events have sold out, in terms of tickets to the general public. Huge interest in this, here in the UK

After the Olympics I’m really geared up for this. Just watched a TV seg with the british parlympian tennis player.

Born with Brittle Bone in her legs, her legs were broken pretty much every 6 months as a child. she spent 3 christmas’ in a row in cast in hospital but this didm’t stop her picking up a racket when she was old enough.

The inspiration felt during the games will be nothing compared to this!

    Not long to go now……
