Strongman Training With Dave Ostlund
Strongman competitor Dave Ostlund doesn’t need a high-tech gym to compete with some of the strongest men in the world. As can be seen below, Dave trains at home in his garage.
Next, he can be seen pressing a 300 pound sandbag overhead with ease. If there was ever an example of a low-tech, high-effect gym, Dave’s garage would rank at the top of the list. He’s an absolute beast!

Anybody else eat blended Liver or Hearts? It’s cool his garage set up looks kinda like mine except he has a lot more space (not too mention a lot more poundage).
Danny, I eat a lot of liver, where do you get your hearts, from a butcher?
The will to win is what leads you to victory. This guy is a great example of that.
Thanks for posting this, Ross!
Impressive the way he handled that 300lb sandbag. Free weights whether in the form of barbells, dumbbells, or kettlebells are relatively inexpensive and along with your own bodyweight are all you will ever need. Of course a sandbag, tires, sledgehammers, etc. can be added depending on your needs or training goals. The expensive weight machines and/or cardio machines really should be avoided altogether unless you’re rehabilitating an injury or grossly out of shape. The only cardio machines that are worth having are maybe a Concept II rowing machine and certainly a Versa-Climber but I think the Versa Climber is very expensive. I believe Rhadi Ferguson has a video performing like a bodyweight version of the Versa-Climber where he performs mountain climbers but moves his arms as well.

This guy is cool, would love to see a video series by him explaining all his tools and how he sues them.
