GSP: Way of the Warrior

In the past, I’ve posted compilation videos of various fighters in training (ex. Fedor, Ray Robinson, Mike Tyson, etc.).

Below is a new addition that was recently sent to me through Facebook.  Within the video, you will see Georges St-Pierre in action.  It is well worth a look…

I’m doing this job, because I want to be the best. I don’t want to be number two. I want to be number one. I’ve always been like this. And I don’t want to be just number one, I want to be the greatest. That’s my main goal. When I do something, I want to be the best of the best. – Georges St-Pierre

if you get a chance to see the 3-part series “ufc primetime” this shows his most recent preparations before his fight with jake shields.

he was training with world champions in the areas of gymnastics, sprinting, muay thai (phil nurse), wrestling, jiu jitsu(roger gracie) and boxing (freddie roach).

guy always changes up his training in order to keep it fresh and ALWAYS seeks out the best in every discipline.

Now if only he actually finished fights….

But that would be too risky!

GSP has a 22-2 record against the best of the best in his weight division. The mental game is the one to first be mastered. It sounds like he has his head on straight and is keeping it there. Becoming a champion is one thing. Maintaining a championship is another level altogether. Few fighters have a win streak for as long an against the caliber of fighters that GSP has had victories against. However he wins, he wins. Again and again.

It’s almost an expectation that he will win fights and it makes people cheer for his opponents, just to see him lose. Anderson Silva, Fedor and many other fighters have had this resentment come their way as well.

Let the haters, hate. Let the fighters, fight.

JSP is the best fighter I have ever seen in the UFC and every video I see of him makes me admire and respect his will power and dedication.

If people could have only 10% of his mindset they would be successful in their chosen sport and life.

He just wins. A true “professional” champion.

you got to credit hardys toughness, he just refused to tap in 2 submissions…thats what I would call an unbreakable mindset. By the way GSP is the greatest

GSP has an impressive win record of 22 wins and 2 losses, that stat says it all this man is a machine.I hear his training routines are always changing this proves that its the way to go for continued improvements in performance. Very inspiring guy.
