Badwater Ultramarathon

Following yesterday’s entry about Jack Denness, one reader commented with a link to a documentary about the Badwater Ultramarathon. I didn’t realize it at the time, but the second video within the original entry is actually a trailer to the film.
Fortunately, the entire documentary can be found within the embedded player below. You can scroll through all eleven parts by using the arrows on each side of the player. The full playlist can also be found here:

Personally, I’ve never had any interest in running a marathon or ultramarathon. I must say however that this film did pique my interest. I believe the time will come when I get around to tackling one of these extreme endurance challenges. It isn’t the act of running that interests me, but the overall challenge that comes with the event.
If Jack Denness can tackle the challenge at age 75, I’m fairly certain that we can all tackle much more than we realize.

Hello Ross,
Long time lurker here, but a huge fan of your site. I don’t know how you find such great videos and inspirational things to write about. Thanks for all your hard work. It is appreciated by many of us who don’t always leave comments.
Wow! That documentary was amazing. I am so inspired. I hope I have that kind of energy at 75!

I absolutely support you. The job Ross does is great and whenever I am in search of motivation, I turn to Ross’s blog to find new exciting and inspiring stories.
Thank you, Ross!
Ross,
I have run many ultras including a trail 100miler. I have been to Badwater in 2007 pacing a friend. I have met Jack personally.
I know I can’t do what Jack did.
