Nice idea but I went a little more durable. I went to my local steel supplier and had 1&15/16" cold rolled solid steel bar cut at 7 foot. Then at another local machine parts shop I got 2 collars to mount on the inside of the bar. I drilled two small holes about a 1/4" deep and screwed the collars in. The bar is rated at near 60,000 lbs and weighs in without weights at 75lbs. It will never bend or tear up no matter how hard i try. The bar ran me $60 and the collars were about $10.
