That was a very breath taking article. Hopkins is definitely a class act and that is a hell of a thing to do for a person. My condolences to Shaun's family...he was a strong kid.

I read this article a few days ago on the yahoo front page. My cousin had the same type of injury that lead to a very rare cancer.

    This article was inspiration.

After all of the nonsense and lack of civility on the recent episode of TUF, it's nice to know that there are combat athletes like Hopkins out there who represent their sport (and themselves) with class and dignity.

i hate cancer. cancer took my dad 2.5 yrs ago. but hopkins speaks the truth, cancer didnt win... it was defeated. i learned more from my dad those final days than i did the previous 28 years. maybe because i was listening more intently, i dont know.

live your life. eat healthy. live healthy, active lives. learn and listen (two ears, one mouth) to those you love dearly. we can all learn a lot from shaun.

Hey Ross!!! It's your boy Chuck!!!

Wooo Mannn !!! That was a close one Ross i can't remember the last time my eyes got this watery. You've posted alot of stories on here that can really make a person choke up but man Ross there was something about this one man. I guess this kinda explains the tears that were in hopkins eyes after the fight that night. What he did was very special for this kid & the ass whipping that he gave to pavlik that night was so dominating Shaun couldn't have gotten a better gift. May God rest his soul & i send my deepest condolences to his family.

To a real true champ Shaun Negler.
