Farmer in Chief

Michael Pollan published a new article last week which many here will enjoy. Take a look at the link below.
I also suggest reading through some of the comments (where Pollan is also active with his responses):
The article is somewhat of a lengthy read, but definitely worth a look. Many important topics are raised within (topics that rarely receive attention from the media).

Thanks for the link Ross. Why is the solutions to society’s problems usually linked to common sense or lack there of? It’s to bad society won’t change until there is no option but to change. We all know big agra and the food industry would fight this with all there resources. What we need is to change is our political system so that money and corruption no longer drives political policy. That’s a different topic and I’ll just get off my soap box now. I really just wanted to say thanks for the link. Keep up the good work.
Hey Ross! It’s your boy Chuck!!!
Man i really hope i don’t offend anyone with this comment. What the hell is wrong with America? Can’t we all open our eyes. Can’t people see the differecne in this country? Prices on pharmaceutical Drugs are rising rapidly for a reason here, not just because people woke up one day & just said hey we love medicine. Were getting sick, getting obese, going broke, full of diseases & dying at a rapid pace because of this S**t our own Government is puttting in our food. For Christ sake if we would just support Organic foods & local farmers & do our part, S**T i know e can’t change the world people, it will never happen there’s not a man , woman, child or group of them combined that will ever accomplish that goal, but hey while were here we can atleast do our part & contribute.
I mean comon here some of us watch our own family members who are living off of medication right in our own households an we do a damn thing about it infact some of us contribute to them being obese, we even at times encourage the s**t they eat & drink. And to the people that are living this lifestyle you’s bitch & complain all day that you’s wish you’s were young or you’s wish you’s were phisically fit or you’s wish you’s had more money so on & so on every damn thing you’s complain about you can have EVERYTHING!!! Start eating right find time & ways to exercise that is suitable for you & then you’s won’t be dreading that damn wait in the Pharmacy line spending huge amounts of money, making assholes richer that don’t give a 2shits about you & you’s will actually have what you’s want. DON’T LET THEM KILL YOU PEOPLE LET’S KILL THERE PLAN!!!
Ross, this is the best article you have ever posted on your site. I read this when it was put out and then just visited the site and saw it posted here today. The positive thing that Pollan points out is more people are caring about food and taking the initiative. I know in my county alone, there are 5 providers of raw milk and grass fed beef, lamb, goat, pastured pork, ranged poultry, etc. These are all higher in omega 3’s which we of course are deficient of. Grass = omega 3, bugs for the poultry = omega 3. This is a great article and for people to actually find news in a newspaper is refreshing.
Recently, my brother informed me that Henry Ford ran all of his vehicles with alcohol and despised the Rockefeller’s promotion of gasoline. He even stated in 1916 that it was pointless for farmers to import gasoline from foreign countries when they could create enough alcohol from their small farms to run their machines. Perhaps more sustainable farms or “sun farms” as I like to call them are the view of the future. Maybe Thomas Jefferson’s agrarian system will come into play finally. Alcohol could be used as the bridge between our current system and the more progressive, more efficient and much healthier system we will have to use in the future.
Read “Nutrition and Physical Degeneration” for a tremendous outlook on the old systems and the health provided by those traditional systems of wisdom.
Nice job, Ross. Keep getting out the good word.
