Excellent resource this page Ross. I already have half of the books in my ever growing strength training and nutrition library. One of my favourites of the whole lot is Siffs' Facts and Fallacies - I think he forgot more than most of us will ever know about strength training.

Two you didn't mention which are my two all time favourites are Dinosaur Training and The development of Physical Strength by Anthony Ditillo. They aren't science text books but are full of the common sense, old school knowledge you and I love.

Thanks for the great info. Steve

hey ross. i was searching the net today, looking for my friend. i found him first at Scully's site. and then, i found him again, here. the way you've written pepe to life is.. i can't put it into words, because there are none that could express the emotion. and that is wonderful!! it's summer time, and on most days, we would play basketball, football, racquetball, whatever, and then we'd train at the gym, (where i'd beat him merciless, [as he'd beat on me with the same abandon]). even after everyone was gone, we'd still be beating on each other. then lock up the joint and go for a run. nothing is comparable to that energy! today, i missed boxing. i missed my trainer, my moral booster, my friend. but, these pictures are so much coolness. they remind me of the times i'd almost forgotten. and, after reading your words, (and watching your youtube), the feeling of urgency is far less pressing, because i can see that we've been taking him along with us... and he is here, within and beyond your lines. good look ross! ~ be well

Very interesting to see some of your influences. I like learning from athletes that I consider truly successful. Thanks for the generous information, glad to see someone who wants to help people succeed, rather than watch them fail.

Ross - Excellent site! Your articles are outstanding, and your training programs jam-packed with effective work-outs.

One other book, and author, that I would suggest is "Eat To Live" by Dr. Joel Furhman (website is here: http://drfuhrman.com/default.aspx). He has a keen insight and speaks plainly on all levels regarding nutrition and permanent weight-loss.

Thanks again for sharing your experience and wisdom!
