Sad that so much of our economy is driven by unhealthfulness. From fast food to pharmaceuticals, if everyone ate right and exercised, our GDP would take a hit. And we can’t have that. By golly, it’s patriotic to eat a Big Mac!

yeah, because it’s not like our economy wouldn’t eventually adjust to non-fat people

Well you know that right now 100% of all products (for a really comfortable life) could be produced by only 20% of the whole population. Therefore we have to have something like employment policy. You have to create problems which can be solved by other people which will cause more problems etc.

That’s not something imagined but really true. Just read the last protocol of the international meeting of economic leaders…

So what’s so great about the benefits of a fat economy if you end up middle-aged and dead or chonically ill?

Well there are still people out there who’ll recommend smoking, so sadly I guess this shouldn’t be too much of a surprise.

“You have to create problems which can be solved by other people which will cause more problems etc.”

Flawed and false!!! According to this, I would benefit the economy if, say, I litter. This simply is an utter misplacement of resources. And allow me to respectfully say that this is not very smart.

This makes us run in place without improvement.

Economy isn’t limited to “making 100% of the products needed for a really comfortable life” Or to solving problems that that shouldn’t exist.

Moreover, we can’t isolate ourselves from other nations’ problems as we coulde do in pre-globalization
