Don’t Run In Traffic

Think about where and when you run…

Jogging In Traffic

Just another reason why I prefer running through wooded trails and country roads.

I’ll always remember working in Central London and walking through terrible pollution to get to work. I was always amazed to see people running down the road. It amazed me that these people thought running alongside a traffic jam with a huge amount of fumes pouring out into the air could in anyway be good for them.

I went running on the beach away from all the traffic a while back and noticed that while I ran 10k (a personal record), I wasn’t our of breath at all the entire time. My legs and muscles began cramping before I ran out of breath. I attributed it to running in the cleaner air, but glad to see science backs up my intuition.

The only thing worse than running in traffic is running the mile by doing 25 or so laps around a basketball court. Had to do that in high school and refuse to ever do that again.
