Following yesterday’s post regarding the body and mind, let’s go back in time to hear what Jack LaLanne has to say about it…

Enjoy,

You can’t separate the mind from the body. What a basic but fundamental truth. But somehow it seems that this idea is forgotten in our society. Just look around at all the blimps smoking cigarettes and eating potato chips. Thanks Ross for making a website that is invaluable but is free to use.

    Jack….
…..such a legend and inspiration. It is amazing how he was preaching so many of the same ideals back then that you do now. I had the distinct honor of getting to hear this legend speak a few years ago (2-3?), and was struck by the passion and vigor with which a man of his then already advanced age was speaking. Unfortunately, it was an “award” speech, and time was limited….so they had to cut him short after he had run well over his alloted time! I’m sure that I wasn’t alone in the crowd in wishing that they had let him go on and on until he was truly finished….great stuff, and thanks for posting.

Like Sandow and Hoffman, Jack La Lanne is another good example of how many good and proven ideals have already been expressed years ago, and are not new today. But they still are as true as they were then, and getting folks to hear it, believe it and live it is the challenge.

I’m grateful to have all these La Lanne videos on Youtube, they’re very interesting to watch. I can remember my Mom watching them when i was a kid, and doing some of the exercises with the show.

    Awesome stuff.

For our 10 year old’s bedtime story, I went to youtube and played about 6-7 of these 3 min. clips. He learned a lot and really seemed to enjoy it.
