Fad Diets
In past blog entries, I’ve mentioned that nutrition is very simple subject, which shouldn’t be complex and confusing (ex. eat real food such as fruits, veggies, meat, fish, eggs, nuts, etc.). Unfortunately, a new fad diet pops up almost daily promising the new secret to fat loss and longevity.
The existence of such fad diets should not come as a surprise, but you may be surprised to learn that such diets have been around for many years.
Take a look back to this page from the Mighty Apollon:

And to those unfamiliar with the Sandow site, I highly recommend bookmarking the link below:
The amount of information contained within this site is simply incredible. As you read through the archives, you’ll quickly learn that several modern breakthroughs (so-called) have actually been around for many, many years.
Enjoy,

Ok, but I don’t think the people at the track will be too happy when I do sprints.
very cool site–great picture of charles atlas doing pistols.
many of those old-timers had a very complete strength–useful muscle…they would probably be astounded to see modern bodybuilding with its general lack of functionality…
Good blog entry, Ross.
You’re nutritional advice there is spot on.
Limit your dairy and cooked food and eat mostly natural, raw foods and you can’t go wrong in my opinion. There is nothing wrong with dairy/cooked food, but too much of it is bad for us.
One guy I do look up to as fat as nutrition goes is Jack Lalanne, he LOVES his fruit, veggies and raw foods, he is 90+ and still working out a couple of hours a day.
