Oscar Vs. Floyd
Unless you live under a rock, I’m sure you are aware of the upcoming bout between Floyd Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya.
HBO has been providing behind the scene footage of each athlete in training camp through their 24/7 series. If you do not have HBO, you can view many of the highlights on Youtube. Below is a link to one of the introductory scenes.
This kind of mega-bout is just what the sport of boxing needs. This event has certainly rekindled the fire amongst many boxing fans.
Post your official predictions under this thread. I see two possible outcomes. Floyd by decision, or Oscar by KO. Floyd is the faster, sharper boxer, while Oscar is certainly the bigger, stronger man.

Just like Ross said, this fight has me excited. I haven’t really been excited about a boxing match in a long time.
I remember reading how Oscar as a child used to get picked on, and bullied. I think that he is thinking about it everytime floyd opens his mouth. I see Oscar coming out with a ruthlessness, and viciouness neverbefore shown from him…
Oscar by KO
That was a nice little piece put together by HBO. They’re doing a pretty good job of hyping the fight.
Alot of emotions in this fight. If oscar has a chance he better catch floyd early. I personally dont think Oscar can keep up with floyd, especally in the later rounds. I like Oscar, but I’m not bias. I think Floyd is going out box him and give him a beating threw out the whole fight.
I don’t like Oscar, but I can’t stand Floyd. I’ve seen the HBO shows and Floyd has shown himself to be nothing more then a thug. I wan’t Oscar to win, and I predict KO
As others have said this fight is definitely gonna be exciting and I’m excited for it. Floyd is COCKY but I say if you got it why not flaunt it???
Floyd by decision
I don’t know about anyone else, I can’t stand Floyd attitude. I know he is just talking smack. I think he needs a little humility, and I hope Oscar will give him some.
Oscar by KO or Decision.
I agree with Ross, Floyd is on top of his game but Oscar is the wiser and more respected veteran. Kind of like the Mayorga fight, he talked all that smack and didn’t back it up and ended up gettin knock out! I predicted a similar outcome just in the later rounds.
Mayweather’s never faced anyone on Oscar’s level. Since he’s undefeated, he may be cocky. I think he’ll get caught early on, and Oscar will win it within 6 rounds.
Well I agree that Floyd has a useless attitude but he is also peaking, undefeated and one of thegreatest of all time while Oscar dare I say it as much as I do like him may be past his prime to stand with Floyd, maybe Ocar a few years ago would have been better.
Honestly I haven’t followed boxing near as much as I did follow MMA - therefore I have no clue how good both athletes really are (I have only seen Oscar fight three times).
Anyway, I have had a view impressions in the past on Floyd and on Oscar and I’d really be absolutely happy if Oscar could pull this one out.
If I can choose: Oscar by KO - just for the sake of values!
I’ve been a fan of Floyd’s for a while, but his antics seem over the top this time around. When the fight was announced a few months ago, I was hoping Floyd would take it. After seeing all of the shit talking going on, and immaturity displayed (I had a good chuckle when Oscar said they had to put him on a ‘time out’ - reminds me of my son who is five - Floyd comes across like a real child fighting a man), I hope Floyd learns a lesson. I actually had a dream about it last night - Oscar knocked Floyd the *uck out - and Floyd was still talking shit after the fight! In any event, this is gonna be a good fight, and I can’t wait.
Oscar by 9th round TKO. I think he will be aggressive by cutting off the ring and pushing Floyd around (like Castillo did), I think he will attack Floyd’s body viciously, and I believe that, while everyone is expecting Oscar’s left hook to be his best weapon, I think he will reveal the straight right hand he hasn’t really used throughout his career. Judah was successful early with that — watch Oscar explode with straight rights on May 5th. Enjoy — Frankie
Too bad that experience and maturity works against you physically in the fight business. Still, I feel Oscar is motivated to give Jr. a lesson in both. Someone needs to and that is my hope for Saturday. That said, you sure have to respect both of their talents, abilities and devotion. It ain’t always about the money…
It’s great to see so many responses. Boxing needs more fights like this to revitalize the sport! All we need now is to put CHAMPION fights back on NETWORK TELEVISION!
The sport is not gaining any new fans by charging $50 per event. Put the bouts back on network television to attract some new fans.
No one pays to watch the Superbowl or World Series, yet these sporting events generate 100x more interest and revenue than any boxing venue!!!

Amen to that.
