Strength Mill
Below is a link to a new video based website with loads of exercise demonstrations:
I was recently asked to contribute, so I’ll be adding some videos in the future. The site is free to view so I’m sure you can find some useful tips and perhaps some exercises that you have not seen before.
Enjoy,

10 commentsFountain of Youth?
Researchers at the Buck Institute have discovered that exercise can reverse aging in human skeletal muscle.
As stated within:
“Results showed that in the older adults, there was a decline in mitochondrial function with age. However, exercise resulted in a remarkable reversal of the genetic fingerprint back to levels similar to those seen in the younger adults. The study also measured muscle strength. Before exercise training, the older adults were 59% weaker than the younger adults, but after the training the strength of the older adults improved by about 50%, such that they were only 38% weaker than the young adults.”

No commentsSpeed Bag Training
A few years ago, Alan Kahn (Speed Bag Central) contributed an article to RossBoxing.com that focused on speed bag training for the beginner.
Speed Bag Basics for the Beginner
The speed bag is a great piece of equipment for hand-eye coordination and rhythm. In addition to these performance benefits, the speed bag introduces a fun factor. It’s one of those activities that does not feel like “work”. It’s fun to hit the speed bag and master new techniques.
So, while the speed bag won’t teach you how to fight and isn’t actually specific to true punching technique, it is still useful as a supplement to a more complete training program.
For those who believe speed bag training is limited, take a look at the video below (of Alan Kahn).
Several additional videos are located at Alan’s main Youtube page:

2 commentsAnother Example of the Human Potential
The video below was recently posted to my message board. The display of strength and athleticism that you will see within is just one more example of the human body’s amazing (and unlimited) potential.
Critics always tell us that we cannot achieve our goals. The critics speak up as they do not want us to achieve something that they were unable to do themselves.
While the critics are busy bitching and moaning, I suggest that you stay busy working towards your goals. As you can see in the video above, the sky really is the limit. The only limitations in this world are those that we believe to be true.
Personally, I’m too stubborn to believe that I cannot do something that I set my mind to achieving. And while my stubborn streak is not always an asset, it certainly can be when I’m working to better myself.

How it all got started
As the mixed martial arts continue to grow in popularity, it’s nice to look back at how the UFC all got started. I still remember watching the first pay per view event.
Below is a video clip that will take you back to the beginning of the UFC.

This is certainly a cost-effective alternative to the more expensive “professional” models on the market today.
